In 2023, Einride successfully implemented electric capacity with numerous global clients, including Maersk, PepsiCo, Wallenius Wilhelmsen, and Kaufland. The company also expanded its operations to the United Kingdom and Norway. Just before the year-end, significant strides were made in concluding Einride's Series C financing round, and the inaugural Einride Smartcharger Station was inaugurated in Stockholm, marking a crucial step towards establishing infrastructure that supports sustainable and efficient charging. However, the most notable achievement is the fact that Einride's autonomous trucks are now operating full-time in the United States, launching fully autonomous operations with over 3,000 units delivered to GE Appliances so far. In addition, HEINEKEN and Einride announce that they have jointly initiated a groundbreaking project to transform freight transport and significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions. By employing electric transport vehicles powered by renewable energy between HEINEKEN's brewery in Den Bosch, Netherlands, and the distribution center in Duisburg, Germany, they expect to annually reduce emissions by approximately 930 tons of CO². This represents a crucial initial step towards creating carbon-neutral transport solutions. Given HEINEKEN's overarching goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, where logistics emissions account for 12% of the total footprint, this collaboration holds significant importance.

Finally, Zpark Energy Systems has entered an exciting partnership with Einride, Chalmers University of Technology, and RISE to explore innovative business models within electric vehicles and charging solutions. Supported by FFI, the project has been underway since Q3 2022 and is expected to continue until early 2025. The focus is on investigating how retired batteries from electric vehicles can be repurposed as stationary energy storage systems to charge heavy electric trucks. The goal is to enhance cost efficiency within the electrified transport system and alleviate the strain on the power grid.
